Retree

Cancellation Policy

Every retreat listed on Retree has one of four cancellation policies, chosen by the Operator and shown on the listing before you book. This page explains how each one works, and what happens in every other cancellation scenario.

Booking holds

Reserving a spot holds it for about 10 minutes while you complete payment. If payment isn't completed in that window, the hold releases automatically and the spot becomes available to other Travelers — no charge, no cancellation involved.

If you cancel

Refunds for a Traveler-initiated cancellation follow the specific Listing's policy:

  • Flexible
Full refund up to 3 days before the retreat starts; 50% refund inside 3 days.
  • Moderate
Full refund up to 14 days before the retreat starts; 50% refund inside 14 days; no refund inside 3 days.
  • Strict
Full refund up to 30 days before the retreat starts; 50% refund inside 30 days; no refund inside 14 days.
  • Non-refundable
No refund for a Traveler-initiated cancellation, at any point before the retreat.

If the Operator cancels

If an Operator cancels a departure you've booked, you receive a full (100%) refund automatically, regardless of the Listing's cancellation policy — that policy governs you changing your mind, not the retreat falling through, which isn't on you.

How refunds are paid

Refunds are issued through Stripe back to your original payment method, and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
